This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become a valuable source of school news and timely information for parents, students, and community members.  It has been developed to enable all visitors of  the site to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures that are basic for the smooth functioning of our school, as well as to provide updated school news, schedules and events.
 
Our school has a very long tradition, and our faculty and staff takes great pride in providing a safe and secure learning environment, while at the same time offering a wide array of exciting and challenging academic programs.   As a school district rich in the tradition of excellence, Chaffee R-II schools is a reflection of our community.   High academic achievement is a priority for our students, faculty, and staff.  Along with academic excellence, Chaffee R-II students excel in fine arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities.  Our entire staff is committed to establishing a school environment that allows our students to flourish and to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

Yearbook Orders – Plain yearbook orders ONLY are still available until the end of the school year.  Order forms can be received from the office or Ms. Eakin. 
 
Duel Credit - Dual credit courses may be taken at both SAHEC and CTC next year.  The separate enrollment forms for each campus can be obtained from the main office.  All forms should be returned to Ms. Ritter prior to the last day of school.
 
Summer Credit Recovery – High school students have an opportunity to retrieve lost credit from prior semesters this summer.  Assignments will be computer based on the ALS (Anywhere Learning System) via the high school library computers.  Interested students need to speak with Mr. Blackman about the credit program.
 
Life Guard Training - If you are interested in becoming a life guard this summer there is an information sheet in the office for the required training. 
 
Summer Dual Credit Courses - Summer dual credit courses are available to upcoming 11th and 12th grade students who qualify for admission.  Please see Ms. Ritter for additional information.
 
Summer Camps
*Southeast Health is offering a summer camp for high school students interested in a career in healthcare. Scholarships are available to help with costs.
*Nuclear Engineering Summer Camp at Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla for students in 11th & 12th grades for 2013-2014.  The Cost is $600 which covers room, board & materials.
*New York University has a PreCollege Session this summer for high school students. You must register online at www.myu.edu/precollege.
*
7th & 8th Grade – There will be a three-day health summer camp sponsored from the Missouri Foundation for Health.  The goal is to educate students about a variety of health care careers.  The camp targets students entering 7th & 8th grade.   A separate camp is hosted for boys and girls.  Please contact the high school office for details or for questions please contact Kristy Unger at the Career and Technology Center in Cape.

College Visits, College Fair, Scholarship Deadlines, and Financial Aid Meetings for 11th & 12 graders

Juniors - Students who are interested in attending a mini-medical school conference at Mizzou this summer is asked to see Ms. Ritter.
 
Students - Are you interested in a career in law enforcement?  Students aged 16-18 may enroll in the Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy summer program.  You must have a C or above average GPA, able to participate in a rigorous physical program and have a valid Missouri drivers license.  Applications are available in Ms. Ritter’s office.

Registration Deadline:   May 3, 2013
(Late Fee Required):  May 4 – 17, 2013

Boys Basketball – Varsity boys’ basketball players need to stop by Coach Govreau’s room to pick up a form for the SEMO Team Camp.

Congratulations Chaffee Lady Devils!!
Congratulations to the Chaffee Lady Devils basketball team who made history on Saturday, December 8!!  The Red Devils won the championship game for the first time in school history (in 36 years), defeating top-seeded Woodland 53-43 in the final of the 36th Annual Lady Red Devils Invitational Tournament.  Way to go girls!!
 
CONGRATULATIONS 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team!! 
The 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team won the championship game in the Scott Mississippi Conference Tournament on Thursday night, October, 18, against the Delta Lady Bobcats.  Congratulations ladies on being Conference Champs!!
